Year 28

by agoodnow

I turn 28 tomorrow.  Entering my late 20’s.  I still maintain that I’m going to peak at 32….maybe 33.  Let’s go with 33.  I like having 5 more good years left.

Let’s reflect on the last 28 years of my life….

It’s been a good ride.  I played Little League, moved to California, captained my high school golf team, spent four and a half years getting drunk in Delaware, and now I’m working for a large insurance company in Manhattan.

There have been a few ups and downs, but for the most part: Living the dream.

Had dinner with a friend tonight.  Corn beef and cabbage.  So good.  If I can’t drink like the Irish, I might as well eat like them.

Tomorrow being my birthday would be the perfect day for me to:

A) Sleep in

B) Take the day off from work

C) Get drunk and pass out on the sidewalk

D) Get called for Jury Duty

If you picked D, you would not only have selected my cumulative GPA for college, but also what I will be doing for my birthday.  Yes, I will be sitting in a room (much like cattle) waiting to see if I will spend the next two weeks of my life sitting in a courtroom.   I don’t mind jury duty, but on my birthday?  That’s just wrong.   On the bright side, I get to wear jeans and sneakers.  It beats wearing the monkey suit.

28 is going to be a great year.  I can feel it.

I watched Groundhog Day tonight when I got home.  I thought it was fitting.   (I may have watching clips of the movie on YouTube at work today too)

I would not be overly upset if I got picked for a jury.

I want to be a beach bartender.  That was I can wear awesome shirts and spin bottles around all day. I think I’d be good at it.
