Dream Big

It is 1:37 am.  I just spent the last couple of hours working on a proposal for a book I would like to write.  I may not be the smartest guy out there.  I may not be the best writer.  But I know without any doubt that if I get the opportunity to write this book, it will be amazing.

I want to write a non-fiction book about athletes and their training. (There is a lot more to it than that, but that is the theme)  In order to write the book as I would like I need access to athletes during their off-season.  That might be tough to come by, but anything worth doing is worth working for.  I’m excited to start researching the project and making some calls to the major sport leagues/organizations tomorrow.

This all seems to make sense to me.  For a long time I have said to myself:

You want a job that gives you freedom.  A job where you can meet interesting people.  Where you are not tied to a desk.  Where you can be creative.  A job where you jump out of bed in the morning because you are excited about what the days has to bring.

I found it.  Now I need to make this idea a job.

Maybe it is the pint of Starbucks ice cream I ate tonight, but I feel alive.  The thought of putting together a project is inspiring.  I’m going to make this happen.

Other than figuring out what I want to do with my life, it was a boring night.

Gym, pint of ice cream, talked to my Dad for a while, ate a salad, got invited to the Yankee game on Thursday, and wrote a proposal for the book (sort of like a business plan).

Oh, yes.  I also watched two outstanding episodes of “The Office”.  The booze cruise episode where Michael tells Jim not to give up on Pam even though she is engaged.

“BFD. Engaged ain’t married. Never, ever, ever, ever give up.”

I like that quote.

I’m running the Philadelphia Marathon.
