Crossing the Border
I went to Canada yesterday. That makes two trips over the border in the last two months. At this rate I might as well apply for dual citizenships, Eh?
I spent 3 hours delayed in an airport on Friday night. The good people at the airport bar must have been happy with that. (Note: airport bartenders who are pregnant tend to be both slow and unpleasant)
Border crossing is fun and highly competitive. I like to see how quickly I can respond to all of the off the wall questions the “border agents” (ie. guys who should work for the game show network on quiz shows) ask.
Where are you from?
New York City
How did you get here?
I flew in last night……and boy are my arms tired.
Why are you here?
We went to Niagra Falls for the day.
Why were you in Canada?
Please see response above. Ummmm…..leisure?
How long were you there?
Again. I thought I answered that. Let me be more specific: Two hours 32 minutes of wonderous waterfall watching.
How do you know each other?
We met in a bar. It was her birthday and I bought her tequila shots.
What kind of tequila was it?
You are kidding right?
Yes. Have a nice day.
Next time I’m crossing into Mexico.
